Two short poetry collections that I compiled in early March 2022 during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Before going into exile (2012-2016) and moving to France (since autumn 2016), my husband and I had plenty of experience with typical Slovenian-Russian tactics and intrigues, stemming from the long tradition of Stalinism-Titoism-Kardeljism in Slovenia (lies, propaganda, blacklisting, defamations, compromat, absurde lawsuits against us and our friends, camouflage of our hangmen, complex intrigues to isolate us, physical attacs, car accidents, murders that look like natural deaths ...). Nothing that happened - except the war itself - was foreign to us. I wanted to express my complete solidarity with the brave and determined Ukrainians who are defending their freedom and sovereignty—and who are also with their lives defending European democracy.


The first collection contains my poems from tihe time of the university purge (2010-2012), the second contains poems by poets from different countries around the world who found themselves in the throes of war or persecution.
